Wedding Shoes

It is going to be your perfect day, you will have the perfect dress and so you will need the perfect wedding shoes to go with it.

Finding The Perfect Wedding Shoes

Finding the perfect pair of bridal shoes can take a little more consideration than just picking your favorite pair off of the shelf. When you are looking for the perfect shoes there are a few things to consider.

Think about the season in which the wedding will be held. If it is in the summer than a nice pair of strappy sandals will do, but if it is in the winter you may want something that will keep your feet a little warmer. Solid heels or flats could do the trick for winter weddings.

Consider where the wedding will take place. If it is an outdoor wedding on the beach, heels may be a bit difficult to walk in so a pair of elegant flat sandals might be a better option. If the wedding will be indoors most any option will work fine.

You will need to make sure your shoes match your dress. A good way to think of it would be if you have a simple dress wear fancy shoes, or if you have an elaborate dress wear simple shoes. The idea being that it is harder to match decorations on both the shoes and the dress so simplifying one makes matching them easier.

Although it is easier to not try match decorations on the shoes to decorations on the dress, it is possible if that is what you want. You’ll need to make sure the fabrics work together first. Satin shoes work well with shiny dress fabrics, crepe shoes with matte fabrics, and of course lacy shoes can go with lace dress fabrics. Sequined or sparkly shoes can go with sequined dresses, and beaded shoes go well with dresses that have beads or pearls.

Something you always need to consider is the color of the shoe. If you are going all white, you will need to make sure the white of the shoe is the same white as the dress. In some cases if the shoe does not match exactly it can be died to match. Of course if you choose to wear colored shoes this would not apply.

The most important thing to keep in mind when finding your perfect pair of wedding shoes is how comfortable they will be to wear for five or six hours. They may look great and match your dress, but if they kill your feet they will only make you miserable on your big day. So when you are shopping for shoes make sure to try them on, check that they fit properly, and walk around in them as much as possible. If you love a pair but they hurt, take a picture and try to find something similar but more comfortable on your feet.
